Help us put Jose to rest

This morning, March 26th, at 3 am our family friend Dolores got a knock at her door and received the news that her son Jose (Manuel) Reyes Rios passed Saturday night around 8:00pm. He was shot and killed by an off duty officer at 19 years old. We have not received an update on anything due to the situation being under investigation and an autopsy in the works. He is the oldest son to our longtime family friend Dolores. Dolores is a single mother with 3 young children struggling to make basic needs for her family. My father has been helping her the past couple months so she can get back on her feet but we never expected this. There is only so much my family can do and we can’t afford to pay for the whole funeral ourselves. Jose grew up my siblings and I. We were the neighbor kids on foster and walked to the melody hundreds of times together, it’s hard to process he passed in the parking lot just houses down from where we grew up. Jose grew up with no father figure in his life was left with the responsibility of caring for his three young sisters. I’ve started prepping funeral services for Dolores and we’re already in the thousands with the basic standard needs of having a funeral. Please help Dolores lay her son to rest. Anything helps even a simple repost. We appreciate you all.
